Beleefkamer (Experience Room) allows elderly with dementia to relive old memories. By playing personal videos and audio and creating a custom light setting the room can be transformed to trigger old memories. This allows them to step out of their daily context. The room is used as a tool for interaction between the elderlies and their family.

Interactive Matter created the technology for this room, including video & audio players, lights, a ‘virtual window’ and a photo frame. The personal experiences can be triggered through RFID tokens. The content is supplied by the family and care-takers.
