Vita is a musical device for people suffering from dementia. Together with the care staff or their loved ones, they can touch VITAs surfaces, rendering sounds that are familiar to them. Through the online portal, care personnel and family can record and upload sounds, and easily manage which sound are available and active on the device.

The concept of Vita originates from an ongoing research of the department of Industrial Design at TU/e. Interactive Matter has been involved in this project as a technical partner, developing several iterations of prototypes and alpha-batches, evolving from a proof-of-concept working prototype to a fully functional and customizable IoT device.

Over the years we developed several different (e-)hardware versions, a mobile app and an online portal.
