De Bunker Luistert

Hidden as a normal Dutch farmhouse, Herenboerderij de Bunker is a former German spy location. With walls made of over 3 meters thick concrete, this location next to Valkenswaard was used to eavesdrop all radio communication of the Allied Forces during WWII.

To educate the historical function of this place, designer Pauline Wiersema created this interactive audio-centre, called De Bunker Luistert (The Bunker is listening). Here kids get informed about the history of the farm and can create their own radio play using all kinds of objects and sound effects.

We created the technical aspects of this installation, including audio players with timed light effects as well as a complete recording studio console with multiple recording booths and a playback area.
