KAS Aankleedhulp

KAS supports people suffering from the early stages of dementia in getting dressed in the morning. People with dementia often have difficulties putting their clothes on in the correct order, while they are perfectly capable of actually putting on these clothes. KAS empowers them in getting dressed themselves, rather than having to wait for a caretakers help.

KAS consists of a foldable clothes-rack that is suspended from the front of  the actual cupboard, and augmented with lights in each section that indicates the next item to put on. An integrated tablet supports this with images and spoken audio, and is also used by the caretaker to provide information to the system about the clothes that are used, and the intended order.

The project was created for Pleyade in collaboration with the Pleyade Innovation Team.
