Daily structure is an important factor for dementia patients to be able to live independently. Wijstijd by Thilly Coppelmans was developed to support this structure and make daily activities visible for patients.
The classic analog clock-face is combined with a digital agenda (Google Calendar) and appointments are displayed on the clock face using different light blocks. This way all activities in the next 12 hours are visibly in a single overview. Details of appointments are displayed on a screen.
Interactive Matter made a complete redesign of Wijstijd, hardware, electronics and software and created two new prototypes to be used for testing and evaluation at the Vitalis care facilities.
This project was commissioned by TU/e, Fontys and Vitalis.
